CorrectPlace (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the CorrectPlace mobile application and website at correctplace.app. We are committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it.

- Account information: full name, email address, phone number, and password (hashed).
- Identity verification (KYC): selfie photo submitted for account verification.
- Property listings: address, description, price, photos, and GPS coordinates embedded in photos for location verification.
- Payment information: transaction references processed through Paystack or Flutterwave. We do not store full card details.
- Usage data: pages visited, search queries, bookings made, and properties viewed.
- Device data: IP address, device type, and operating system for security and fraud prevention.
3. Why We Collect Your Data
- To create and manage your account.
- To verify property locations and prevent fraudulent listings.
- To process subscription payments and bookings.
- To send OTP codes for phone and email verification.
- To improve the platform and personalise your experience.
- To comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud.
4. Third-Party Services
We share limited data with trusted third parties to operate the platform:
- Paystack / Flutterwave — payment processing. Their privacy policies apply to payment data.
- Amazon Web Services (S3) — secure cloud storage for uploaded photos.
- Termii / SendGrid — SMS and email delivery for OTP and notifications.
- Google / Facebook OAuth — optional social login (only if you choose this option).
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Property photos may be retained for fraud prevention for up to 12 months after deletion.

You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and data.
- Opt out of marketing communications.
- Lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority.

CorrectPlace is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 years of age. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us immediately.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
